Education Olympics Results

Thomas B Fordham Institute in Washington caught the olympic bug decided to see what happens if an education Olymics was held today. In the recently held Olymics China came first followed by US. In this first Education Olymics ever held ,the results were not unexpected. As usual physical prowess of athlets and their brain power donot often match. In todays knowledge economy, the smartest are those who learn fast.Winston Churchill in his famous speech at Harvard university in 1943 declared that all future wars will be faught for talent and skill. What he meant was that the countries with the best 'brain power ' and not 'military power' will rule the world.
A few studies have recently shown the quality of the education systems in different countries.Finland has the best education system and the Finnish kids are the smartest in learning! When it comes to brain power, the super powers are not America or Russia but small countries like Finland, Hongkong and Singapore.
We know our records in education is no better than our medal tally at the Beijing Olymics!Except a few elite institutions like the IIMs or IITs and few schools the rest is rotten.
